Our heroes, relishing in their most recent victory, sped across the horizon of Cerea. Not much later, they approached what looked like a damaged star base sitting in orbit. Several Tie Fighters made a bee line away from our heroes, while some Imperial shuttles remained in dock. After a careful approach, the adventurers decided to land on the docking bay. The communication array of the station was damaged in the attack, so R2-F0 was asked to go outside to extend the embilical cord (entrance tunnel) to our adventures vessel. Uneventfully, the bridge was extened.
Jar Yar, said “I’s stay here in the ‘Iron Maiden’”, their transport,”And I’ll support yous from the outside theees time.”
The Jedi, agreed. Giblets, an ewok, scouted ahead in the corridors. Very quickly he noticed a small squad of Storm Troopers, seemingly on guard duty. A quick mind trick, had the Storm Troopers facing down the hallway away from our party. The Jedi and the ewok used the element of surprise to their advantage, and quickly dispatched one. The other 2 returned fire on the Jedi. The Keldor scout with the aid of the Twi’ Lek soldier moved to a better firing position and fired wildly. The Jedi, use the distraction of the ewok to move into combat. He took gun butts, but otherwise was not harmed. It wasn’t too much longer, until he dispatched one with light sabre slice. While the other succumbed from blaster fire from the Jedi’s brother.
A quick hit from a medpack, had the bruising from the blaster butts under control; meanwhile Giblets decided to scout ahead abit more. He noticed a bigger squad, tearing apart the ship, looking for something. He stealthly moved back and gave the heroes a warning sign, gesturing that more were down the hallway. That’s when our heroes decided, to back track abit, and try to see if there was another way around.
Around the other path, they came across another small squad of Storm Troopers. They snuck as close as they could, while trying to stay out of sight of the Storm Troopers. Problem was, that the hallway was long and narrow. The Keldor Scout took steady aim, and blew a head off of one storm trooper. The other two ran for cover, and made a gesture, almost as if to say “help us, we’ve been ambushed!” Sure enough, another squad also tearing apart the space station was in the vacinity. Under the cover of a smoke grenade, our heroes quickly moved to fireing positions to meet the Imperial threat. The Twi’ Lek laid covering fire, distracting a Storm Trooper, allowing the Jedi to move into position. The Keldor scout dropped another Storm Trooper, making the advance less hectic for his brother. The Jedi force shoved the rest into the wall, and crushed all but one of the Storm Troopers. The remaining Storm Trooper was bound by Giblets.
All was not well for our heroes, in their haste, they failed to spot the advance of the other kill squad. Still in the cover of smoke, the Keldor Scout took aim at the first Trooper he saw. He easily dropped him, despite the cover provided by the wall. The Soldier continued to supress the advance with heavy fire. The Jedi moved in for the kill. Meanwhile Giblets who was trying to revitalise a fallen Storm Trooper, gave up and decided to releave himself on the now corpse. At the other end of the hallway, the Keldor Scout dropped another. The Twi’ Lek followed suit in falling another. This left three Storm Troopers. All of them trained their fire on the Jedi, only one hit, but it was a big hit. Despite his agony, he force grabbed a Trooper and tried to fling him into his partner. The Storm Troopers continued to focus on the Jedi, having seen what poweres he possessed. It didn’t make a difference, one light sabre swing, and another blaster shot had left one Storm Trooper standing. He too was dispatched by a swift light sabre swing. Giblets, meanwhile did some exploring and discovered a data pad.
Giblets called R2-F0 to see if there were other Storm Troopers on the base. R2-F0 basically botched it, and left our heroes in the dark. The Keldor Jedi, who was now hurting from all the blaster fire, needed a rest. An hour later, the heroes were no closer to cracking the computer, but worry about possible survivors started to creep back into their minds.
After a quick check to see if the Storm Troopers might try to ambush them, the heroes followed Giblet’s advance. Quietly, they approached a fork. The Jedi heard voices, possibly survivors, and decided to follow his gut instinct to go help them. The room they saw, told the tale, amongst debris and blown out computers there were four survivors. After some bit of conversation, it was surmised that the primary forces of the Storm Troopers were kill squads bent on finding a data pad dropped by Vrik, who was appearantly on the station.
Fearing the worse, our heroes quickly ran up to the observation level. They broke into two cells, one had the Jedi and his brother, the other was Giblets and the Twi’ Lek soldier. They approached the last room slowly, but for naught. The Storm Troopers, were elite escorts to an Imperial Officer, who was brutalizing Vrik. Not thinking about his own safety, Giblets took aim at the Storm Trooper in front of him. The Storm Troopers, under orders to kill intruders, took aim at the party. It was Giblets, who suffered the most. It was a miracle of the force, that kept him from dieing from the blast wound. Vrik, in his dazed state, willed the Jedi to come to his aid. An act that rewarded the Jedi time to pull officer off Vrik and into the Storm Trooper. Out of the danger zone, the Twi’ Lek tried to avenge Giblets. The Keldor Scout decided to give some cover fire. The Storm Trooper on the Jedi, back handed him. The other Storm Trooper tried to kill the soldier. The Jedi decided to finish off the officer. Vrik gave encouraging words to the Twi’ Lek scout, who responded by dropping her opponent. The Jedi swiftly lopped the head off the remaining Storm Trooper.
A quick use of a medpack from the Twi’ Lek had Giblets back amongst the land of the living. Vrik was happy to be free from the Imperials and back safely amongst “friends.” When approached about the subject about being buddies with the Empire, he smugly told them about his attempts to negotiate the freedom of some “political prisoners.” When the Empire declined, he freed them. The “political prisoners,” in turn disabled the engines and communication array of the Star Destroyer. Vrik appearantly attempted to escape, with new information as to why the Empire had a presence in Cerea’s system. The Empire was interested in artifacts, and they thought one might be in the cursed desert, found in the unihabited portion of Cerea. Sadly, the “political prisoners” were killed in their escape, but Vrik escaped to the Space Station. In case it was in question, the “political prisoners,” were in fact Rebel soldiers originating from Cerea.
Having offered the heroes use of the government’s bacta tanks, the heroes offered him a safe escort home.
